PolyCheck StripsThe PolyCheck allergy test procedure is carried out on the membrane bonded onto the Strip. Note that EVERY patient sample is accompanied by a 6 point calibration curve (only 5 visible above, the last one is zero). The specially developed PolyCheck Software does not simply scan the Strips in a single pass. It actually controls the scanner and finds the position of each chip on the scanner bed. The software takes a total of 165 readings per allergen (or standard) line on each Strip. From this group of readings only the 100 darkest points are taken into account. This effectively eliminates errors due to dust particles, or a dirty scanner window. A mean of the 100 darkest readings is then taken for each line on each Strip. The quantification of the allergens is made by comparison of specific allergen readings against the standard curve included on every patient sample. As with traditional optical systems, the result is electronically converted to kU/l. Background correction is also automatically calculated as the scanner passes between allergen lines. Thus, serum effects are eliminated |
